The Office of Innovation and Industrial Relations (OIIR) provides a range of services designed to support and accelerate innovation, entrepreneurship, and research commercialization through its departments:
Innovation Center (IC)
A cornerstone of OIIR, it fosters innovation and entrepreneurship at HBKU by offering the REYADA innovative entrepreneurship program, MIJHAR, a commercialization studio, co-working spaces, personalized consultations, and workshops for skill development.
Innovation Funds Office (IFO)
A dynamic pillar dedicated to managing and distributing funds. It fosters a collaborative, multidisciplinary, and locally relevant innovation environment through initiatives such as the Student Innovation Fund (SIF), Industrial Innovation Fund (IIF), and Social Innovation Funds (SOCIF).
Intellectual Property Office (IPO)
A crucial component in advancing Qatar’s vision of a knowledge-based economy, it identifies, captures, protects, and commercializes intellectual property within the HBKU and QF ecosystem. It collaborates with inventors and the OIIR team to advance technologies through diversified funding and facilitate their market entry.
HBKU R&D Corporation QSTP-LLC (R&D Corp.)
Established in 2022 and registered with the Qatar Science & Technology Park, it focuses on managing, marketing, and commercializing innovative products, technologies, and services.
