Dr. Farhan did his Bachelors from Aligarh Muslim University and Masters from Jamia Hamdard, Delhi, India. He did Ph.D. from Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB), Delhi, India and then moved to Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai to work as a Visiting Fellow before moving to Oxford University for his postdoctoral studies. At Oxford University Dr. Farhan worked on preparing a validated model of anxiety in the fruit fly. Later, he moved to Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A-STAR) and Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. Where he worked on preparing optogenetic tools to inhibit neuronal activity in behaving animals.
